Ingest 0.9.8
A clearer workspace and a new welcome
- A cleaner main window puts workspace selection, viewing, sorting, filters, and search together in the native title bar. Wider, contained sidebar sections give folder names and controls more room, and source tabs adapt to the available space.
- Meet Ingest through a new optional welcome overview, with dark-mode photographs and focused introductions to the Command Palette, Workspaces, review, Photo Groups, Metadata Assist, and Decks. The welcome resizes with its window and offers to build your first workspace at the end.
- Browse by now has a compact, ordered checklist for Day, Camera, Lens, ISO, and Location, followed by stack options. Selected details stay at the top and can be reordered; selecting none shows a continuous grid.
- Scenes and scene detection have been removed. Named Photo Groups, detail-based browsing, bursts, exposure brackets, Similar Frames, Survey, and Photo Suggestions remain available.
- Workspace creation offers Set Up Manually or Use Workspace Builder, without an Editor mode switch. The Questions step reminds you that questions can be added later and workspaces are always editable.
- Find the closed-eye filter from the Command Palette by typing closed eyes, eyes shut, or blinks. It uses the existing Eyes may be closed analysis filter for folders and Apple Photos, requests missing analysis, and can be removed through the palette too.
Requires macOS 15 or later and Apple silicon. Eye detection is an estimate; review flagged faces before making decisions.
