Open in Lightroom. Right-click photos and choose Open in Lightroom or Open in Lightroom Classic. It's also in the File menu and the command palette. Lightroom opens its Add Photos screen (Classic opens its import window) with your photos selected. Ratings and labels are saved first, so they come along. Each item appears only when that app is installed.
Both Lightroom apps are ready as after-import actions, so you can pick them in the Workspace Builder or on the import screen and send only Tagged photos or a photo group.

Opening photos in an app now hands over the photos only. Their XMP sidecars stay beside them, as they already did after an import.
