IngestA metadata template stores reusable field operations, such as filling empty Creator and Copyright fields or adding keywords. M opens one Apply Metadata Template sheet with template selection, any required answers, a resolved preview, and Apply. New Template and Edit Copy return to that selection. Editing a copy leaves the shared original unchanged.
The preview shows each field’s operation, existing value, and resulting value. Clear, unchanged, and mixed values are identified explicitly. Keywords can add to existing values, and Fill Empty preserves values already present. Missing required answers must be completed before applying.
Templates can use naming tokens and answers from workspace questions. Preview resolves them using the selected photographs. Changes to the template, inputs, or photo selection require an updated preview.
Select a template in Import Settings or the workspace’s Metadata section to apply it to verified destination copies. Fields shown during import controls the visible editing fields only; it does not choose a template or change what the template writes.
